15th March 2011

Scothern going digital                                                                                    15th March 2011

Is it too early to mention that we are all going to be completely digitised (our TV’s that is) in August, starting on August 3rd?    It is?  OK – we will return it again before the first Lincoln roadshow on the subject which is in May.

EON in Scothern

Local resident Gavin Smith noticed Eon had left some equipment outside his house last week and established that they would be laying new ducting in Scothern over a four week period. Before the Clarion could get news of this out to you they started work, so you will probably have already noticed that there is a one way system operating on Dunholme Road.   Hope it doesn’t cause too much of a problem, but it will be good if more of our cables are going underground.

Scothern Players – the Clarion makes no apologies for mentioning the latest production from our local thesps again.   We have just received some photographs of the production which starts this week and which unfortunately cannot be shown below.   Scenes shown include a vital clue, an inexplicable tennis player, an inevitable French maid and a local man who has been impersonating a police officer for quite some time!  For £7 a ticket (£6 concessions) it is the most fun you will have this month without breaking the law.    There are a few tickets left for first night (this Friday) and the following Thursday – otherwise it is a complete sell out.    You can get tickets online at Scothern Players or from any of the cast (if you can recognise them).

Lincoln Villages Area Forum - Don’t forget the Lincoln Villages Area Forum is to be held tonight, Tuesday, 15th March.  Everyone is welcome to discuss local issues, and there will be presentations from Women’s Aid and Direct Lincs.   7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at William Farr School, Welton, and they say that refreshments will be provided.
